About

What is Inveniam Outreach?

We Will Find a Way.

Inveniam comes from an inscription on the Penn Class of 1893 Gate, “Inveniemus viam aut faciemus,” which means, “We will find a way or make one.” This spirit guides our commitment to expanding access and opportunity for young people across Philadelphia.

Our outreach programs provide students with access to foundational science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) resources and experiences. Our vision is to create pathways that enable K-12 students to explore careers in STEM, giving them opportunities to discover their interests, develop their skills, and envision themselves as future scientists, engineers, technologists, and innovators.

Through these pathways, Inveniam aims to create more equitable and innovative connections to Penn Engineering and to the technology careers that will define the 21st century.

Creating Pathways Into STEM

Mission: Inveniam Outreach advances STEM education beyond the Penn campus by connecting the University with Philadelphia schools, community organizations, industry, government, and other partners. Through coordinated outreach, meaningful collaboration, and high-quality STEM experiences, we prepare the next generation for college and careers while fostering a strong sense of belonging in STEM.

EXPAND ACCESS

We promote STEM education beyond the Penn campus by leveraging our location in Philadelphia to build partnerships with area schools, nonprofits, industry, and government, bringing high-quality STEM learning and resources into the communities we serve.

CONNECT & COLLABORATE

We expand and coordinate outreach across the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Engineering, and beyond, bringing together educators, researchers, students, community members, and other stakeholders to address STEM and education challenges.

PREPARE & EMPOWER

We prepare the next generation for college and career readiness through high-quality STEM experiences that build technical skills, confidence, mentorship connections, and a sense of belonging.

Who Do We Work With?

Inveniam Outreach brings together students, educators, the Penn community, and external partners to create meaningful STEM experiences. Our programs are strengthened by the people and organizations who share our commitment to expanding access, opportunity, and belonging in STEM.

Students, Families & Educators

K–12 students, families, teachers, schools, and school districts are at the center of our work. We create opportunities that support students at every stage of their STEM journey while empowering educators to bring new experiences into their classrooms.

The Penn Community

Penn Engineering undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and staff bring their knowledge and experience into our programs through teaching, mentorship, research, and hands-on learning.
